Kulit Laut turns fish skin from the Banyuwangi catch into vegetable-tanned leather goods.
About Kulit Laut
Leatherworker Rizky Maulana founded Kulit Laut after seeing how much skin the fish markets of Banyuwangi threw away. Snapper and grouper skin turns out to be strong, supple and beautifully patterned once tanned.
The leather is vegetable-tanned and every piece is cut and hand-stitched in a small workshop near the harbour.
